Has anyone ever told you to find your niche? Finding your niche is the most important Internet marketing strategy for your online business.

If you want to make more money on your website, you need more traffic. Which means, you need to work at getting your website to the top of search engine listings. One of the easiest ways to do this is via highly targeted niche marketing. Highly targeted niche marketing can be attained either through marketing to your niche by using longer, less searched for key phrases or by marketing to sub-niches within your niche.

An easy way to get started using a more targeted niche marketing strategy is to research three and four word length key phrases that are particular to your websites niche and are not being strongly competed for already in the search engines. The fewer amount of people you have to compete with for those key phrases, the higher you will rank in the search engines.

Once you have actually found a profitable niche you will need to decide what kind of business plan you want to implement into your niche marketing campaign. Many prefer to market products that are made by others but are related to their niche. They may do this by creating affiliate websites where they promote the product and then send the buyer to the vendors site through a link on one of their web pages. Others actually prefer to create their own products. The advantage of selling your own product is you get all the money rather than a small commission.

Anyone who has been involved in niche marketing will tell you that being the first to arrive on a specific market and develop customer loyalty has a huge advantage. Niche markets have a strong habit of being widely accepted and small niches are always the next big thing. Once they become big, they are no longer a niche. This will attract larger companies who have a lot more to invest in capturing the market and will attempt to take over the market place. By capturing the market before the large companies, you have a chance to actually compete with them by staying a step ahead of their game.

Last of all, you should keep in mind that there are no hard and fast rules about what makes up a successful Internet marketing strategy. You will need to adapt, revise and revamp your Internet marketing strategy as necessary to ensure not only short term but also long term success. Pay close attention to the larger companies. How are they advertising? How often? Can you determine their target audience by the way they spin their ads? This can lead to clues as to which direction you should take your campaign.

Internet marketing strategy or put more simply a plan for online success is probably the most essential ingredient needed for anyone starting a home based business. In the days when I first started out in the auto repair and towing business my bank manager had the following saying. “fail to plan and you plan to fail” In other words if you don’t know where you are headed how the hell are you ever going to get there. After all if you where embarking on a road trip to some place hundreds of miles away where you had never been before you would have a map. That way you would be able to check that you were headed in the right direction and check your progress along the way.

The same applies to internet marketing or any business venture for that matter. If you have no clear idea about the direction you want your business to go in or how you intend to get there you are finished before you ever get started. I guess for some folks reading this it sounds like a stating of the obvious but it may surprise you to know that scores of people set off in internet marketing with little or no idea of where they are headed. So unless you want to join them and end up going around in circles you will need an internet marketing strategy that works.

One of the most important parts of your internet marketing strategy is the setting of realistic goals. You will know if you have read my articles before that I see this as one of the most crucial factors towards achieving any kind of business success. So many people get sucked into the dream of earning thousands of dollars in no time at all without doing any work. Don’t go there. Stick with what you are doing already (your day job) and set out a plan of where you want to be at each step along the way. But most of all keep it realistic then you may just surprise yourself by exceeding your goals.

If you are new to internet marketing and working online you may want to set a goal to enroll just one person or make one sale in your first month. Bearing in mind that during this time you will be on a steep learning curve getting to know the program and learning how to use online tools or systems. Then the next month set out to double your first months achievement by enrolling two people or making two sales. If this seems a little lack lustre to you and you do far better then that’s great news but buy setting your sights a little lower you won’t be setting yourself up for a fall either. If you were to double the size of your sales or recruitments every month your business would grow to 2,048 sales or enrollments within your first twelve months!

Hours spent now on your home business will pay you dividends for years to come. I could give many examples I personally know of people who earn a monthly income from online businesses that they no longer need to put any effort into. They worked at these businesses flat out giving up all those hours in front of the T.V. or down at the local bar and now they reap the benefits. So set your stall out now to devote a set amount of time on a regular basis for the furtherment of your online business. Remember be “consistently persistent” and you will get there in the end. Using Internet Marketing Strategy Can Double Your Sales Overnight


Do you have an Internet marketing strategy for your online business? You should. Internet marketing and Internet advertising, when done properly, can drive traffic to your website and practically double your sales overnight. In fact, advertising your site may be the only way for you to compete with larger, more established competitors.

While there are many different forms of Internet marketing strategy that you can employ, one of the easiest and most reliable forms is results tracking. When you track the results of your Internet advertising campaigns, you can quickly learn what works and what doesn’t work. For obvious reasons, this method is much better than a random hit and miss advertising method, which can turn out to be quite costly, not to mention ineffective.

Of course, this form of Internet marketing strategy isn’t anything new. Direct marketers have been using results tracking for years, and it can easily be adapted for the Internet. The key is to come up with a way to measure the results of Internet advertising accurately. If you’re tracking is not accurate, there is little to no point in doing it.

To make sure their tracking results are accurate, many direct marketers use a trick known as split testing. Split testing uses a specific key or tracking device to associate a sale with the advertisement that produced the sale.

For example, in a print ad, the key or tracking device that may be used could be a specific phone number or extension. When a customer utilizes the number or extension, the marketer knows exactly which ad drove the customer to seek out the advertised product or service. If the same ad produced repeated sales, the marketer knows that the advertising is effective and worth doing again. On the other hand, if the ad didn’t even produce enough sales to pay for the advertising, then the marketer knows not to try that again.

The same split testing method used by direct marketers can easily be adapted and incorporated into your Internet marketing strategy, allowing you to determine exactly how effective or ineffective your Internet advertising is.

To track the success and failure of Internet advertising, most Internet marketers typically use some sort of tracking software to associate the key with sales. A simple way to do this is to develop two web pages that feature two different ads. You can then track the sales results of each ad to see which worked best, and if necessary, adjust your Internet marketing strategy accordingly.

For example, let’s say that on one of the pages, you received a total of 2,000 page views and 20 sales. This means that you have a success rate of one percent. Not bad. This is the average for both direct mail advertising and Internet advertising. Now that you have this information, you have statistics you can rely on. You can test other pages to see if they perform better or worse. You can also adapt the original pages to see if your changes have any effect on the sales outcome. For example, try adjusting headlines, graphics, text, and anything else you can think of. Then, compare the results of these changes to the original results.

After you have tested different variations of your Internet advertising, you can quickly determine exactly what works and what doesn’t. Your Internet market strategy and any future advertising that you do can then be adjusted accordingly. If you succeed, you may be able to double your sales without throwing away good money over and over again on advertising that doesn’t work.

4. Even though you will have already started your business before you can determine the marketability of your product, you study sellers offering the same or a similar product. If your product is known to most people but no one is selling it there is probably a reason. By going to chat rooms and forums you can get a pretty good idea of where you product stands. Do enough research to make sure you have something that will sell.

5. Your internet marketing strategy must have the ability to turn your customers into repeat buyers. Make sure you can spin off your product or create improvements to you original product to get them to buy again. A list of 100 buyers is probably worth more than a list of 1,000 people who have shown interest in your product but haven’t purchased it.

6. You will need to have a money back guarantee. Most people won’t purchase in today’s market without one. Even though it’s true that you can’t please everyone be ready to give an unhappy customer their money back immediately. You should try to offer them something free just for trying your product. Most of them will appreciate it and may even become a customer later on. If nothing else it may create a positive instead of a negative to your business.

Strategic internet marketing is like hunting with a guide who knows the area and the game you’re hunting like the back of his hand. Without the guide you may get lost or if you don’t you will probably never see any game because you’re looking in the wrong place.

One thing you have to keep in mind is that your customers won’t come looking for you. This is the reason you need to be looking for them with a strategic internet marketing plan as your guide.

Internet Income… Affiliate Marketer or a Business Opportunity Seeker?


There are a lot of people who, when they become interested in making money online, turn to Affiliate Marketing. This is not surprising as it can be a fairly easy entry into Internet income; at least it seems so at first. In going the Affiliate Marketer route, there is no need to have your own product and, in some cases, you can even get by without a web site. There are some affiliate programs that actually provide each of their affiliates with their own replicated web site to sell the products or services. Others running affiliate programs have sales pages that the marketer can send potential customers to. The mechanism, like email, for sending the prospect is encoded with the affiliate marketer’s unique affiliate ID number so that the proper marketer gets credit for the sale and receives the resultant commission.

A high percentage of people who begin affiliate marketing don’t make enough money to continue in it very long. Often, they end up spending more of their own money advertising and promoting affiliate products and/or services then they actually make. This is truly unfortunate because a lot of these people are already in a precarious financial position and that is the reason they are looking to make some money online. They get so excited about promoting and hopefully selling someone’s product or service that they don’t do adequate investigation before getting involved.

Selling anything on the Internet is normally a very difficult proposition. Anyone considering affiliate marketing should take a serious look at that term “Affiliate Marketing.” Sometimes they are referred to a “Affiliate Programs” or something like that. Trust me on this, the most important word in Affiliate Marketing is Marketing. Even if it does not appear in the phrase, it is the key word. If people don’t know immediately that they are in the marketing business, not the affiliate business, they are destined to fail. It is all about marketing. If you are not into marketing you should not be in Affiliate Programs.

People considering any type of Internet business must be very, very careful. We live in an age where there are a lot of charlatans and unscrupulous people on the internet who are preying on the “newbies” (those new to Internet Marketing). Once one starts looking for an appropriate online business the liars and scam artists seem to come out of the woodwork and have but one goal… to separate you from your money. You have probably seen some of the hype: Make $40,000 by noon tomorrow; Do nothing and make $500 an hour; How I made $1,000,000 in three months. There is no end to these claims, but I can tell you, except in very rare instances they are lies. Think about it for a minute… If I really had a way to make $150,000 per month, would I share it with anyone for $47.00? Not unless it is all of those $47.00 payments that makes me the $150,000. But then, after you pay the $47.00 how will you make that kind of money? You won’t.

Please understand, there ARE legitimate opportunities out there. But it seems to me the crooks outnumber the honest businesses about 10 to 1. So be careful.

If you want to go the business opportunity route instead of (or along with) the Affiliate Marketing I suggest you start small. Keep your required up front investment small enough that if you lose it all it won’t hurt much. Make sure you are comfortable with the program and you can see yourself promoting it. Once you are in, remember it’s all MARKETING!
